I done a research about this natural sugar substitute and concluded that this food ingredient is safe to use. Reading some articles you can find that Stevia has some side effects. Bullshit! These websites just rewrite existing articles and doesn’t do researches on that’s product existing compounds. So if one website wrote that Stevia side effects exist, the myth began. Stevia is one of the best. It’s because this sugar substitute consist of natural ingredients such as rebaudioside and stevioside. These are glycosides extracted from Stevia rebaudiana plant. These compounds are responsible for such sweetness and they are safe to use, because they are gotten from natural plant. These glycosides are about 150 sweeter than sugar. So Stevia is most sweet food ingredient. For example there is Truvia product in the market. It consists of about 90% of erythritol and only about 10% of rebaudioside and stevioside. Stevia consists of about 90% of stevioside and rebaudioside compounds and only 10% of silica and agave inulin polysaccharides. All of these compounds are natural.
Talking about Stevia side effects silica is toxic only in its form of dust and is toxic to lungs. It can cause:
Cancer.
Bronchitis.
Silicosis.
But taking it oral is safe. Agave inulin affects only sensitive people and can cause:
Stomach noses.
Bloating.
Cramping.
Diarrhea.
Allergic reaction.
Intestinal discomfort.
But you know, in 21st century you can get such symptoms eating an apple. Besides these two ingredients in Stevia food additive are only less than 10%. So if you will buy sugar supplement 100% go with Stevia. Other sugar substitutes have much more side effects than Stevia.
For the end of my article i want to mention that this food additive has some benefits. Stevioside and rebaudioside have anti disease activity and can boost your immune system. Diabetic people also can use this food supplement because it hasn’t calories. It is non-caloric product. That’s it what i wanted to write about this food additive.
